🌱 Nature-Friendly Gardening: An Introduction

🌱 Nature-Friendly Gardening: (Full-day workshop)
Learn the Foundations of Permaculture Gardening in the Scottish Borders
Join us on Friday 11th September 2026, from 9am–4.30pm, for a hands-on, full-day workshop that introduces the principles and practice of nature-friendly gardening — ideal for beginners, growers, or anyone looking to cultivate a more sustainable approach to their green space.
Hosted in our thriving permaculture-inspired Walled Garden at Faldonside Eco, just minutes from Melrose in the Scottish Borders, this session offers an accessible and engaging introduction to the world of permaculture gardening. You’ll learn how to work with nature — not against it — to grow productive, resilient gardens that support biodiversity, soil health, and long-term sustainability.
🌱 What to Expect:
- Introduction to Permaculture
We’ll explore some of the core principles of permaculture and how they apply to everyday gardening. - Guided Garden Tour
Enjoy an immersive walk through our restored Victorian Walled Garden, observing sustainable systems in action — from compost bays and companion planting to perennial crops and no-dig beds. - Practical Group Sessions
End the day with a friendly problem-solving workshop, where we’ll discuss your own garden challenges and how permaculture might help.
Whether you have a balcony garden, allotment, or acres to explore, this workshop will equip you with practical knowledge, inspiration, and confidence to take the next steps in your growing journey.
