🌱 Introduction to Permaculture Gardening

🌱 Introduction to Permaculture Gardening course (half-day)
Grow with nature – learn the foundations of permaculture in our productive walled garden.
Join us for a half-day workshop exploring the principles of permaculture in action. Based at Faldonside Eco near Melrose in the beautiful Scottish Borders, this course introduces the theory and practice of sustainable gardening designed to work with, not against, nature.
Begin the day with a guided tour of our thriving Victorian walled garden – now restored and managed using regenerative permaculture techniques. You’ll gain insight into seasonal fruit and vegetable production, companion planting, and building healthy soil naturally.
Through practical observation and group discussion, you’ll develop skills to better understand your own garden or green space. The session ends with a supportive Q&A and troubleshooting circle, helping you apply permaculture solutions to your personal gardening challenges.
🧠 What you’ll learn:
- The core ethics and design principles of permaculture
- Real-world examples from a working permaculture site
- How to apply “the problem is the solution” thinking
- Ways to build soil health and increase biodiversity at home
This workshop is ideal for home growers, smallholders, or anyone seeking to garden more sustainably and mindfully.
