🌱 Gardening for Nature: How to prepare for Spring!

🌱 Gardening for Nature: (Full-day workshop)
Come to our nature-focused estate and discover the secrets of permaculture and nature friendly gardening to prepare your garden for spring!
Join us on Friday 20th November 2026, from 9am–4.30pm, for a hands-on, full-day workshop that introduces the principles and practice of nature-friendly gardening in preparing for Spring— ideal for beginners, growers, or anyone looking to cultivate a more sustainable approach to their space.
As autumn arrives at Faldonside, the gardens and wider estate take on a different character. Leaves turn golden, seed heads and berries provide valuable food for wildlife, and the woodland and hedgerows become alive with activity as nature prepares for winter. Join us for a special day exploring how we garden for nature at Faldonside and discover practical ideas you can take home and use in your own garden, either in autumn or preparing for Spring.
Hosted in our thriving permaculture-inspired Walled Garden at Faldonside Eco, just minutes from Melrose in the Scottish Borders, this session offers an accessible and engaging introduction to the world of permaculture gardening. You’ll learn how to work with nature — not against it — to grow productive, resilient gardens that support biodiversity, soil health, and long-term sustainability.
Set within a beautiful Scottish Borders estate, this is much more than a gardening course. It is an opportunity to step into a working landscape, see nature-led gardening in practice and discover how even small changes can make a real difference to wildlife.
🌱 What to Expect:
- Introduction to Permaculture
We’ll explore some of the core principles of permaculture and how they apply to everyday gardening. - Guided Garden Tour

End the day with a friendly problem-solving workshop, where we’ll discuss your own garden challenges and how permaculture might help.
